Visiting Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods
Brushwood, the historic home of Edward L. Ryerson which houses Brushwood Center’s offices and the Brushwood Center is currently closed to the public as a precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

*Brushwood Center will be closed the following dates: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day. On rare occasions, Brushwood Center may be closed for private events.
Visiting Ryerson Woods
The Edward L. Ryerson Conservation Area, or Ryerson Woods, is owned by the Lake County Forest Preserves and is open daily 6:30 a.m. to sunset. This 564-acre oasis supports some of the most pristine woodlands, as well as several threatened and endangered species, in Illinois. It offers six miles of scenic trails.
Admission and Parking
Tour the Brushwood Gallery and house for free during regular business hours. Parking is always free. Fees may apply for programs and workshops. Click here for a list of upcoming programs.
